Manitoba PNP - Canada PR Visa Consultants

Through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program, the government of Manitoba aims to hire skilled foreign workers who can contribute to financial and labor market needs of the province. Also, it is designed to attract immigrants belonging to recent graduates and agricultural entrepreneur categories. The Manitoba PNP operates 4 different streams which provides a way to permanent residency in Canada. These streams are:

Skilled Workers Stream

The Skilled Workers Stream selects international workers with relevant skills as needed by Manitoba’s local labor market. The objective is to nominate applicants like recent graduates, skilled workers, businessmen and their families settle and economically establish themselves in Manitoba. The stream consists of two pathways namely Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas

Skilled Workers in Manitoba

This pathway provides an opportunity for foreign skilled workers to gain permanent residency in Manitoba by showing proof of connection to Manitoba in form of an ongoing employment, work experience, and education. Given below are the eligibility requirements for this pathway:

  • You must have completed at least 6 months of full-time job in a Manitoba company as a temporary foreign worker or an international student working graduate.
  • The employer must be registered and run a business with an established plant, capability, or division in Manitoba.
  • International students from other provinces having at least 1 year of experience for a Manitoba employer.
  • You should have an offer of long-term employment from an employer for whom you have the work experience in Manitoba.
  • You must have a stronger connection to Manitoba through employment compared to other provinces.
  • You should submit a settlement plan with your intention and plan to live, work, and establish your professional and personal life in Manitoba.

  • You should either be a temporary foreign worker or an international student graduate from a post-secondary institute in Manitoba.
  • If you are an international student graduate from a post-secondary institute in Manitoba, you must have a valid post graduate work permit from IRCC.
  • You should not be a refugee or a live-in caregiver residing in Canada nor be a spouse of Canadian citizen nor be an active immigration applicant.

Skilled Workers Overseas

The Skilled Worker Overseas program is aimed to select individuals having training and work experience in countries other than Canada to nominate for Canadian permanent residence and settle in Manitoba. The applicant must demonstrate their connection to Manitoba either through support of family or friends, previous education or work experience, or an ITA received directly from MPNP.

a. Support of family members or friends

An established resident of Manitoba who can help you settle and find employment in Manitoba provided he or she is your close friend or distant relative and satisfies the following criteria:

  • Provide evidence of residing in Manitoba.
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Support the applicant’s settlement plan.
  • Demonstrate close ties to the applicant and to the province.

A close relative can support more than one applicant whereas a friend or distant relative cannot do so. Also, the supporter should not be a paid immigration representative nor a Canadian elected official.

b. Invitation from Manitoba Province

The province of Manitoba conducts regular recruitment missions along with Manitoba employers or allows skilled foreign nationals for pre-approved trips to the province of Manitoba, to identify qualified candidates for issuing the Invitation to Apply for permanent residence in Manitoba. An applicant willing to participate in the recruitment mission or exploratory visit must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Be in the age group of 21 to 45 years at the time of participation.
  • Satisfy all employment and adaptability requirements.
  • Completed at least one year of post-secondary education or training program.
  • Have at least 2 years of full-time experience in the past 5 years.
  • Demonstrate ability to find employment in Manitoba.
  • Achieve at least CLB 5 in each category of approved language test taken during the last two years.

The applicant must submit the letter of invitation, received during these missions or visits, to apply for the MPNP.

c. Education or Work Experience in Manitoba

Candidates having previous full-time work experience of at least 6 months or who have completed an academic degree or a training program at a public or registered institute in Manitoba can apply for MPNP. Also, they need to show sufficient points to pass language, education, employability, age, and adaptability tests. He or She must submit the following documents:

  • Signed letter of reference from the employer on company letterhead
  • A copy of work permit to prove employment in Manitoba. (or)
  • Study permit, academic transcripts, and/or certificate, diploma, or degree.

International Education Stream

International students graduating from eligible institutions in Manitoba and having required skillset in accordance with industry norms can expect to gain permanent residence in Manitoba using pathways like Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and International Student Entrepreneur Pilot.

Career Employment Pathway

Post-secondary students having a job offer related to an in-demand occupation can apply for permanent residency in Manitoba through the Career Employment pathway. Given below are the eligibility requirements for the same:

  • Candidate must have completed at least 1 year or two semesters of full-time coursework from a designed post-secondary institution in Manitoba.
  • He or she should have a job offer with a minimum of 1 year contract and in a in-demand occupation in lines with the program of study.
  • Candidate should achieve at least CLB/NCLC score of 7 or equivalent as a proof of English language ability.
  • He or she must show proof of adequate financial capability to sustain self and dependents at least for a period of 6 months.
  • Candidate must be staying in Manitoba at the time of application.

Once nominated, the applicant must prove his or her intent to stay in Manitoba through a Career Employment plan which details out opportunities for a successful career in Manitoba.

Graduate Internship Pathway

International students with a masters or doctoral degree having completed a Mitacs Elevate or Accelerate internship with an eligible research and development enterprise in Manitoba can apply for MPNP through this pathway. Eligibility to apply for this program is same as that of the Career Employment Pathway except in this case, the applicant doesn’t need any job offer.

International Student Entrepreneur Pilot

International students graduated in Manitoba can get the opportunity to start their own business or firm provided they meet the conditions of their Business Performance Agreement and get the pathway to permanent residency in Manitoba. He or she must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • The candidate should submit a business plan showing equity ownership of at least 51% and proof of running a business in Manitoba for at least 6 months on a valid work permit.
  • He or she should meet the language proficiency requirements.
  • He or she should show proof of financial ability to sustain for at least 1 year.
  • A personal net worth report must be submitted to the MPNP within 3 months of receiving Letter of Advice to Apply.
  • He or she must sign a Business Performance Agreement (BPA) before getting approval for implementing business plan.

Business Investor Stream

The province of Manitoba uses this stream to recruit and nominate qualified business investors and entrepreneurs around the globe for permanent residency in Manitoba, through the following pathways.

Entrepreneur Pathway to support candidates willing to open a business in Manitoba

Farm Investor Pathway to support candidates willing to establish and operate a farm in rural Manitoba. Given below are eligibility requirements for the Entrepreneur Pathway:

  • The applicant must have at least 3 years of full-time work experience as an active business owner (with minimum 33% ownership) or as a senior manager in a business.
  • He or she should demonstrate net worth of at least 500000 CAD.
  • The applicant should meet the language proficiency requirements of CLB/NCLC 5.
  • He or she should establish a business in Manitoba and fulfill the terms and conditions of signed Business Performance Agreement.
